Facts About Crawshay's zebra
Crawshay's zebra is a distinct subspecies of the plains zebra that can be found in eastern Zambia, particularly east of the Luangwa River. This subspecies also inhabits regions in Malawi, southeastern Tanzania, and northern Mozambique, extending down to the Gorongosa District.
What sets Crawshay's zebra apart? For one, their lower incisors lack an infundibulum—an intriguing dental characteristic. Additionally, their stripes are much narrower than those of other plains zebras. This unique striping pattern is one of the most noticeable features that make them easily identifiable in their natural habitat.
