Colours of Ostrava

Colours of Ostrava, often referred to simply as Colours, is a vibrant and diverse music festival held annually in Ostrava, Czech Republic. It stands as the largest international music event in the country and ranks among the premier festivals in Central Europe. Since its inception in 2002, the festival has expanded to include 16 stages, ranging from open-air and indoor platforms to a theatre stage, workshop stage, kids' stage, cinema, and even venues for live discussions. It covers an extensive array of music genres, including popular music, avant-garde, and world music.

Initially, Colours of Ostrava took place at various locations around the city. However, in 2012, it found a permanent home in the Vítkovice district. Over the years, its popularity has soared. In 2010, it became the first festival in the Czech Republic to sell out a month in advance, attracting over 30,000 attendees. By 2007, the festival had already drawn more than 20,000 visitors, and by 2010, that number had nearly reached 30,000.

Each year, Colours of Ostrava boasts an impressive lineup of both international and local artists. Past performers have included renowned names like Sigur Rós, Robert Plant, Björk, Tame Impala, Imagine Dragons, and Norah Jones, among many others. This diverse roster has cemented the festival's standing as a key cultural event in the region.
