Trúba - a cylindrical tower, the most important remnant of the Štramberk castle, located on the Zámecký vrch hill, northwest of the market square in Štramberk. The height of the building is 40 m, and the diameter - 10 m. Located at an altitude of 508 m a.s.l.
The castle was created at the end of the 13th century. In 1783 part of the unused object collapsed, and the other fragments, except for the tower, were demolished. In the years 1901-1903 the tower was adapted to the needs of developing tourism and was made up as a viewpoint. The architect Kamil Hilbert. In the ground floor part, a commemorative plaque in honor of Adolf Hrstky - a tourist activist, whose initiative was renovated the tower in 1903. Currently, the tower is urban property.
At the tower there are two buildings: Jaroňkova útulna - a wooden hostel for tourists built at the place of the former upper palace in 1906, significantly rebuilt in 1925, decorated with paintings by Bohumír Jaronka; The architect was Josef Pokorný from Ostrava, Chata Mudr. Adolf Hrstky - a wooden shelter in the place of the former lower palace, built in 1925; In the basement of the facility there is an entrance to the Slámova cave.
