The Lakes
The Lakes in Copenhagen, Denmark are a row of three rectangular lakes curving around the western margin of the City Centre, forming one of the oldest and most distinctive features of the city's topography.
Gentofte Lake
Gentofte Lake is a lake in Gentofte in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It has a surface area of 36.73 hectares. The Brobæk Mose bogland adjoins the lake to the northwest.
Lyngby Lake
Lyngby Lake is a lake located on the border between Lyngby-Taarbæk and Gladsaxe municipalities in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the smallest of the four lakes that are located on Mølleåen. At the east end of the lake is an embankment with a lake promenade, S-train line and Lyngby bypass.
Damhus Lake
Damhus Lake is a lake located just north of Roskildevej, between Rødovre, Vanløse and Frederiksberg, on the western outskirts of inner Copenhagen, Denmark. Damhus Meadow, once a part of the lake, is located on the north side of the lake.
Lake Bagsværd
Lake Bagsværd is a lake in northeastern Zealand, Denmark. After Furesø, it is the second largest lake in the Mølleå system. The lake is an appendix to the Mølleåen via Furå further on to Lyngby Lake.
Lake Emdrup
Lake Emdrup is a lake located on the border between Copenhagen and Gentofte municipalities in the Emdrup area of northern Copenhagen, Denmark. It is fed mainly with water from Utterslev Mose to the west and Gentofte Lake to the north and drains into St. Jørgen's Lake in central Copenhagen through a system of pipes.
Sortedam Lake
Sortedam Lake is a lake at Copenhagen in Denmark. A vertical slope was added in the area in 1929. In September 2012 it was announced that there were plans to build a floating bridge on the lake, and construction material left from digging tunnels would be placed on the eastern part of Sortedam in the Østerbrogade area.
