Tved Kirke
Facts and practical information
For alternative uses, see Tved Kirke.Tved Church stands on a high hill above Kongsøre Hage. It was built in the 12th century, and is unusually large for a village church. The building is whitewashed and both the nave and chancel are covered with lead. The church is "kullet", i.e. it lacks a tower, which is an unusual feature on Mols. Where one would expect to find the tower, i.e. to the west, a large chapel has been built, which is covered in brick. In 1940-45, the church was thoroughly restored and during the work of laying a new floor, an old crypt was found that had been used for burials by the Sandberg family, the old noble family of Kvelstrup and Isgård.
