Goły Wierch, Tatra National Park

Facts and practical information
Goły Wierch or Goły Wierch Rusinowy - a small hill on the extension of the northern arm of Goose Neck, between Rusinowa Polana on the west side and Wierchporońc and Łysa Polana on the east side. On the top, on the left side of the road from Wierchporońc, there is a small clearing from which the name comes.
On Goly Wierch on the south-eastern side of the trail stands a wooden cross with the inscription to the King of Silence. It was placed in 1970 by a Poznań priest P. Zybert together with a group of students in the place of the previous one which was knocked down by a storm in 1968. According to tradition the first cross was placed on Goly Wierch in the late nineteenth century by Stanisław Rusin in the place where a murder was committed. Every year since 1973 on 17 August masses are celebrated at the cross.
Go³y Peak is still counted by geographers as a part of Tatra Mountains, on its northern side there is usually a border between Tatras and Bukovina Foothills.
Below the top of Go³y Wierch the marked trail connects with the Jaworzyñska Droga, which is not available for tourists and reaches the Oswald Balzer Droga in the Wierchporoñce area. Between these roads runs the Międzydroga Ridge. East of the summit, towards Lysá Polana, the Limestone Furnace Forest extends.
