Szare Berdo, Bieszczady National Park
Facts and practical information
Szare Berdo - a peak in the Western Bieszczady Mountains.
Szare Berdo is the lowest, unexplored peak of the Połonina Wetlinska massif. It rises between Osadzki Wierch and Smerek, from which it is separated by the Mieczyslaw Orlowicz Pass.
The Grey Bard ridge runs WNW-ESE and slopes gently. To the northeast, a side branch branches off from the summit, descending initially steeply, then gently to the valley of the Rzeka stream. The southwestern slope descends into the valley of the Pańskie Zwir River.
The surroundings of the peak are overgrown by a strip of forest separating two halophytes - one covering Smerek and Orłowicz Pass and the second, proper Połonina Wetlinska in the east. There are, however, numerous clearings, and the ridge itself is covered by a narrow strip of the forest, from where you can see the neighboring peaks of Połonina Wetlinska, as well as Smerek.
