Salatín, Tatra National Park

Salatyński Wierch or Salatin - the peak of the Slovak Western Tatras with a height of 2048 m a.s.l. One of the 6 peaks belonging to the so -called Salatin groups. It is located in the Main Foreign Foreign of the Western Tatras separating the Rohacka Valley from the Jałowiecka Valley here. In this ridge there is between a small Salatin, from which he is separated by a small intermediate Salatin pass, and Brestowa, from which it is separated by an extreme Salatin pass. His north-eastern slopes fall to the Salatinian Valley. It is not known where the name of the peak comes from, perhaps from the folk name of the plant.
This is the most powerful mass of the Orava Tatras, the last Tatra two -thousand from the west. The top is cut with dorsal ditches. On the vast west ridge, called by residents from Zuberc Czerwony Wierch, there are 2 small rates invisible from the tourist path, which leads north of them. The peak is the western bulge of the crystalline shaft. West to the Bobrowiecka Liptowska Valley, the gully under the wandard is falling. The top and slopes are mostly covered with grass. In the past, a cattle from the Bobrowiecka Valley grazed on the top. Salatin pasture is mentioned in Orava documents from 1615, maps from 1823 mention the Salatjn B peak.
The first winter entrance: Józef Lesiecki and Leon Loria in 1911. From the summit, an excellent view of the nearby Siwy Wierch, a person and the Rohacka Valley. In the eastern and southern direction, Panorama includes numerous peaks of the Western Tatras, also a distant high Tatra Mountains.
