Sedielková kopa, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Sadhmus Kopa - a jumper hill with a height of 2065 or 2067 m a.s.l. in the Slovak High Tatras. It is the last culmination in the side ridge departing south of Ostra. From the massif Turnia is separated by a pass called a saddle.
The saddle kick was formerly called the saddle, but this name is currently not correct. It is used by Witold Henryk Paris in one of the older editions of the Taternicki Tatra Tatra Mountains series, but in newer editions, among others The great Tatra encyclopedia is already erected as a saddle kick. The name of the saddle was previously incorrectly moved from the neighboring pass.
The peak is a keystone for two short ridge. The first falls southwest towards the main branch of the Ważecka Valley and closes from the south the Dry Ważecka Valley, while the second branchs to the southeast towards the Furkotna Valley and closes its lower parts from the west. There is a scrap metal - a large area of winds, which flows south of the saddle stream between the ridges.
In addition to the main vertex, there are other ones, which are: a saddle of the saddle kick or kick in front of the saddle in the back falling on the saddle, intermediate saddle kick in the south-west back, extreme saddled kick in the south-east ridge.
In the western part of the scrap metal there is a Turnia called a woman or a ważecka woman.
The saddle kick is easily available from both the Furkotna and Suchy Wajecka valleys, but no marked hiking routes lead to it. The first entrances to its vertex are not known, it has been entered for a long time. In winter, Peter Havas was the first at the top of Kopa in January 1906.
