The Lübeck arson attack is the name given to the attack on a house for asylum seekers on the night of January 18, 1996, in Lübeck's Hafenstrasse. Ten people died in this arson attack. They came from Zaire, Angola, Togo and Lebanon, the youngest had been born in Germany. 38 other residents of the house were injured. The crime has not been solved, and the investigation is under strong public criticism.
