St. Peter's Church in the Wik district of Kiel was commissioned by Grand Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz to be built as a garrison church in 1905-1907. The latter acted on the recommendation of Admiral Prince Heinrich of Prussia, the brother of Kaiser Wilhelm II, and entrusted the architects Karl Moser and Robert Curjel with this building project.
