St. Mary's Church in Bergen Auf Rügen-Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession, located in the center of Bergen Auf Rügen on Ruga.
It is the oldest preserved brick church of Mecklenburg-front and at the same time the oldest sacred building on Ruga next to the parish church in Altenkirchen. Noteworthy are its wall paintings - the only example of a comprehensive painting of the entire interior of the church in northern Germany and the only wall paintings from the 13th century in this area.
The St. Mary's Church is currently the parish church of the Evangelical community in Bergen Auf Rügen with about 2,000 members and belonging to the Stralsund District of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church.
