The Limesmuseum Aalen is an archaeological museum with an attached open-air site in Aalen, Baden-Württemberg. The museum is a branch museum of the Archaeological State Museum of Baden-Württemberg and also the largest museum on the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes, which is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The museum stands on the site of the largest Roman equestrian fort north of the Alps. It reopened in May 2019 after two and a half years of renovation and closure with a newly designed permanent exhibition and energy renovation.
