Facts and practical information

Leipzig-Mockau Airport was Leipzig's first civilian airport. It was put into operation in 1913 as an airship port and flying station. During World War I and World War II, production facilities for the aircraft armaments industry existed on the site, and the airfield served as a factory airfield. Until its closure in 1991, Mockau Airport was used for civilian purposes.
