Facts and practical information
Maria am Wasser is an Evangelical Lutheran church in the Dresden district of Hosterwitz. With its exterior reminiscent of southern German Baroque sacred architecture, it is completely atypical for the Dresden region. At 1,500 square meters, the churchyard is one of the smallest cemeteries in the city. The Church of Mary on the Water and the churchyard are listed monuments and, as part of the Dresden Elbe Valley Cultural Landscape, were UNESCO World Heritage Sites from 2004 to 2009.
