ehem. Bahnhof Sprockhövel, Sprockhövel
Facts and practical information
Sprockhövel railroad station is a disused station on the Wuppertal-Wichlinghausen-Hattingen railroad line in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The two- to three-story reception building made of partly slate-clad natural stone was built in 1884. The goods shed was built in half-timbered construction. The construction of the station led to some mining suppliers also settling in Sprockhövel at the beginning of the 20th century. Passenger traffic was discontinued in 1979, freight traffic in 1984.
The reception building has been an architectural monument since 1987.
Today, the station is located on the Von-Ruhr-zur-Ruhr cycle path and is part of the Route of Industrial Heritage.
