The Obertor is the last surviving medieval city gate in Neuss, dating from the 13th century, which controlled the important trade route to the bishop's city of Cologne in the south of the Neuss city fortifications. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Oberstraße.
Since April 4, 1985, it has been a registered architectural monument.
