The municipal museum of Medebach is dedicated to the historical and cultural development of Medebach and its districts. For the central town, the development from an agrarian town to a place characterized in particular by tourism is presented.

In 1981, a local history association was formed. Particularly on its initiative, the municipal museum was founded in 1989 under municipal sponsorship. This was established in a historic town house from the 18th century.
