The Diocesan Museum of St. Afra is the central museum of the Diocese of Augsburg and is located in Augsburg's cathedral district directly behind the cathedral.
The opening took place in 2000, since then the Diocesan Museum presents sacred art from 17 centuries. Nestled between the Gothic cathedral cloister, the Romanesque chapter house of the old cathedral monastery and the remains of the Carolingian cathedral, the museum welcomes visitors with a modern facade.
