The Wingolf Monument, located on Pfarrberg in the center of Eisenach, is the central place of remembrance for the fallen of the Wingolf Bund, the oldest umbrella organization of Christian student fraternities. Originally erected to commemorate the fallen fraternity brothers in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, today it also commemorates the victims of the two world wars. In 2003, the memorial, including the staircase, was extensively renovated.
