Vöhlin Castle is located in a commanding position above the town of Illertissen in the district of Neu-Ulm. The modern castle is the successor building of the high medieval castle Tissen and is today the seat of two museums, the Bavarian Bee Museum and the Museum Illertissen. In addition, the high castle serves as a conference center for the Swabian universities. The French annex with the restored baroque hall serves events such as concerts and free wedding ceremonies. The same applies to the small baroque chapel.
