Facts and practical information
The Speyer Gate is a triumphant arch-like city gate, a relic of the former fortification of the city of Frankenthal, located in the present-day state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It was named after the Free Imperial City of Speyer, as was Speyerer Straße, which led from the then city center through the gate towards Speyer. Its counterpart is the Worms Gate at the northern entrance to the city center.
