Neptune Fountain - was designed like the Roman Fontana del Nettuno building to commemorate the Nuremberg conference from 1649 organized after the Thirty Years' War. The fountain was designed in 1656 and was to stand on the main market. Instead, she was erected in 1702 at Peunthof Square. 1797 the fountain was bought by Tsar Paweł I and erected it in the gardens of the Peterhof castle in St. Petersburg. In 1902 she was put a copy on the main market, where she stood until 1934, when she was removed at Hitler's personal wish. After the war, the fountain was erected in the city park in 1962. The discussion of the return of the fountain to the market continues all the time.
