Facts and practical information
The Neue Weser is a lake on the Stadtwerder in the district of Habenhausen, which is part of Bremen's Obervieland district. The lake was formed as a result of the breakthrough of the Weser in March 1981. The flood bed with the lake in it was ecologically redesigned; there are steep bank breaks and shallow water zones at the lake, in which there are several islands.
The lake is fed by seeping Weser water, and drained through a discharge pipe into the Lower Weser.
