Heinrich-Hertz-Turm, Hamburg

The Heinrich-Hertz-Turm, affectionately known as the "Tele-Michel", stands as a modern landmark in the bustling city of Hamburg, Germany. This telecommunications tower, not just a functional facility but also a symbol of the city's skyline, reaches a height of 279.2 meters (916 ft). It was named after the German physicist Heinrich Hertz, who famously proved the existence of electromagnetic waves.

Constructed between 1965 and 1968, the Heinrich-Hertz-Turm has become an integral part of Hamburg's cityscape. While primarily serving as a broadcast tower for radio and television, it initially featured a public viewing platform and a revolving restaurant, offering visitors breathtaking panoramic views of Hamburg and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, these visitor facilities were closed in 2001.
