Facts and practical information
The Fountain of Justice is a fountain on the Römerberg in Frankfurt am Main and one of the city's landmarks. It dates back to a predecessor built in 1543 on the same site and was created in its current form in 1611. During the time of the Holy Roman Empire, it played a special, albeit short-term, role as a wine fountain for the emperor and then also for the people during the coronation ceremonies. The fountain currently on view is a largely detailed copy from 1887, financed by the Frankfurt wine merchant Gustav D. Manskopf. It is listed as a historical monument.
