Großer Beerberg
The Großer Beerberg is a mountain located in the Thuringian Forest, Germany, and the highest point in the state of Thuringia. The nearest town is Suhl. Between the summit of the Beerberg and that of its eastern neighbour, the Schneekopf, the second highest mountain of Thuringia, is a 60-metre-deep col.
Großer Finsterberg
The Großer Finsterberg is a mountain, 944.1 m above NHN, in the Thuringian Forest not far from the villages of Stützerbach and Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig. It is the third highest peak in the German state of Thuringia.
Vessertal-Thüringen Forest
The Vessertal-Thüringen Forest forms a central part of the much larger Thuringian forest. In 1979, the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Thuringian Forest was established here as the first UNESCO biosphere reserve in Germany. The biosphere protection was expanded in 1990, when the Thuringian Forest Nature Park was founded, and again in 2018.
