Kletterturm Großer Angerfelsen, Magdeburg
Facts and practical information
The Große Angerfelsen is a 25 m high climbing rock in the Elbauenpark in Magdeburg's Herrenkrug district, artificially constructed in the course of the 1999 Federal Horticultural Show.
For the construction, balcony parts from the renovation of old prefabricated buildings in Neu Olvenstedt were piled up and sprayed with special concrete from the outside. The well-secured routes can be climbed both with colored holds and without. The difficulty levels are thus variable and the climbing rock is well suited for professionals and amateurs alike.
The rock can be used free of charge. Prerequisite is, in addition to the appropriate equipment and caution, a day ticket or annual pass in the surrounding Elbauenpark.
In total, there are 25 routes on the rock bolted with holds. In addition, there are another 6 routes that are completely without holds. Since every climbing route with holds can usually be climbed again without holds, sometimes with a considerable increase in difficulty, this makes a total of 56 routes.
