Luther Church, Neutraubling
Facts and practical information
Lutherkirche is a listed church located at Uhlandstraße 2/4 in the town of Neutraubling in the district of Regensburg. The congregation belongs to the Regensburg deanery in the Regensburg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.
The church with unusual turquoise painting was built in 1955/56 by Adolf Abel to create a Protestant church for the Neutraubling expellee community, which was only founded in 1951 on the site of the Obertraubling military airfield destroyed in World War II.
The central building, developed from triangular and pentagonal forms on a Y-shaped ground plan, is a concrete grid building with a flat tent roof. In 1959/60, the church was extended by Abel with a bell tower with concrete grid and community hall with pent roof.
