Mühle Rosa, Gettorf
Facts and practical information
The Gettorf Windmill is an old windmill in the municipality of Gettorf in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
It is one of the landmarks of Gettorf.
It is a gallery Dutchman's mill equipped with a two-story square base built of red brick, a slate-covered roof and louvered sashes, and a wind direction tracker called a "wind rose". An annex added later extends the usable area.
The miller Wilhelm Theodor Johannsen had the mill built in 1869 by the millwright Carl Friedrich Trahn. Until 1946, the mill was used for grinding grain. Between 1977 and 1982 the mill was renovated by the "Association for the Preservation of the Gettorf Windmill".
The Gettorf Windmill is used as a community library as well as for weddings.
