Alternativer Bärenpark Worbis

The Alternative Bear Park Worbis is an outdoor facility located on the outskirts of Leinefelde-Worbis in the Eichsfeld region of Thuringia, Germany, and is home to bears, wolves and various other animal species. The park was created from 1996 through the initiative of the "Aktion Bärenhilfswerk" on the site of the former municipal zoo. The Alternative Bear Park in Worbis sees itself as an animal, nature and species protection project. Its primary goals are to keep animals of wild species in a manner appropriate to their natural habitat and to provide assistance for the continued existence of rare domestic animal breeds.
