Seifersdorfer Tal, Dresden
Facts and practical information
The Seifersdorf Valley is the name for one of the oldest German landscape gardens, conceived and laid out at the end of the 18th century by Christina von Brühl, and for the valley in which it is located. The valley runs geographically along the Great Roeder River from Liegau-Augustusbad at the Grundmühle to Grünberg. It is named after the nearby village of Seifersdorf. The landscape garden Seifersdorfer Tal is located between the Grundmühle and the Niedermühle near Seifersdorf and thus lies on the corridors of Seifersdorf, Schönborn, Liegau-Augustusbad and Grünberg. Geographically and culturally, the Seifersdorf valley is located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Dresden, on its northern city border. Christina von Brühl, daughter-in-law of the Saxon Prime Minister Heinrich Graf von Brühl and mother of Carl Graf von Brühl, general director of the theater and museums in Berlin, lived with her family near the valley in Seifersdorf Castle or in the steward's house of Seifersdorf Castle.
