Bosenberg
Facts and practical information
The Bosenberg is a 485 m high mountain east of St. Wendel in the Saarland. It is the highest elevation in the urban area of St. Wendel.
A Deutsche Telekom telecommunications tower is located on the summit of the Bosenberg. On VHF, the program Unser Ding is broadcast from a height of 70 meters at 90.3 MHz with 100 watts.
Also near the summit, from April 1974 to November 8, 2003, stood a 15-meter-high wooden lookout tower that provided a sweeping view of the landscape. The tower was demolished due to dilapidation.
Among others, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland as a world championship race, the World Cup for mountain bikers, the International St. Wendel Mountain Bike Marathon and the World Championship Duathlon are held around the Bosenberg.
Since 1975, the private Bosenberg Kliniken St. Wendel have been located on the edge of the Bosenberg mountain. They are an interdisciplinary rehabilitation center focusing on the treatment of ear, nose and throat and neurological diseases, dizziness, tinnitus and head and neck tumors. They are one of the largest specialist tinnitus clinics in Germany.
