St. Peter and Paul is the Roman Catholic parish church of Kappel, a district of Freiburg im Breisgau. Built in the Baroque style, it is also the site of an older, namely late Gothic, much venerated image of Our Lady. Together with St. Barbara in Freiburg-Littenweiler, St. Hilarius in Freiburg-Ebnet and Holy Trinity in Freiburg-Waldsee, the parish forms the pastoral unit Freiburg-East of the Freiburg Deanery within the Archdiocese of Freiburg. The church and its history have been especially researched by the Merdingen teacher and art historian Hermann Brommer.
