The history of the Marian pilgrimage church in the northern Baden town of Waghäusel dates back to the early 15th century. The church has a monastery attached to it, which is currently cared for by the Brothers of Common Life. The church is located just outside the village of Waghäusel and borders the site of the former Südzucker AG sugar factory. In addition, the Wagbachniederung nature reserve is in the immediate vicinity.
