Facts and practical information

The nature reserve Hainberg is located on the Rednitz River in the territory of the cities of Oberasbach and Stein and to a small extent the city of Nuremberg. The nature reserve, which is part of the nature conservation project Sandachse Franken, has existed since March 1, 1995 and is about 213 ha in size. On its area there was previously a site training area of the US Army and the transport battalion 270 of the German Federal Armed Forces stationed in Nuremberg. 195 ha of the area are therefore in the administration of the DBU Naturerbe as a natural heritage area.
