The Gothic Stadtkirche Schlitz is a Protestant church in Schlitz.
The church was originally a columned basilica built by the Fulda abbot Ratgar on the city hill. It was consecrated to St. Margaret on September 20, 812 by Archbishop Richulf of Mainz. This date is the first documentary mention of the town of Schlitz. Since the Reformation in Schlitz in 1546, the town church has been Protestant; it belongs to the Evangelische Christusgemeinde Schlitzerland.
