The Hellenthal Game Reserve with the Hellenthal Bird of Prey Station incorporated into the game reserve is a 65-hectare zoo south of the Eifel National Park, in Hellenthal.
The zoo was founded in 1967 and is privately owned. Its focus is on native animal species presented in a natural environment. The game enclosure and the bird of prey station are open all year round.
The game preserve is home to red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, mouflon, lynx, foxes, wild cats, raccoons, tanuki and wild horses.
In the Hellenthal bird of prey station, which enjoys an international reputation among other things due to its success in breeding, eagles, buzzards, kites and falcons can be experienced in free flight. Exotic birds of prey such as the African Fish Eagle, Desert Buzzard, Bald Eagle, Condor and Blue Hawk can also be observed at the station. Flight demonstrations take place several times a day.
In the zoo, in addition to a playground, a children's zoo and a park express, there are also restaurants.
