The Vogelherd Archaeopark is an archaeological theme park at the Vogelherdhöhle cave in the Lone Valley in the Swabian Alb near Stetten ob Lontal, a district of Niederstotzingen in the district of Heidenheim, Baden-Württemberg. Vogelherdhöhle is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Caves and Ice Age Art of the Swabian Alb.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the area, designed by the Munich-based architectural firm Ritter Jockisch and the landscape architecture firm Keller Damm Kollegen, took place on January 12, 2012, and the archaeopark was opened on May 1, 2013.
In addition to an open-air area with activity areas and access to the Vogelherd Cave, it includes a visitor and information center, in whose treasure chamber two original Vogelherd figurines are on permanent display. Among them is the famous mammoth from Vogelherd, which was carved from mammoth ivory 40,000 years ago and is considered the oldest completely preserved figurative work of art known to mankind.
