The ruins of Lobenstein Castle are located on a mountain cone in the middle of the old town of Bad Lobenstein. Since only the keep, which is about 30 m high, is well preserved and visible from afar, today it is usually referred to only as the Old Tower. The tower is the landmark of the town of Bad Lobenstein and can be visited today as an observation tower.
