The church of St. Barbara in Lichtentanne in Saxony was built around 1150 and rebuilt in its present form in 1628. It has a northeast orientation. The church was the only church in the village until the beginning of the 20th century, when it was replaced by the larger Christuskirche in 1908. Thereafter variously still used for parish events, the church fell into disrepair from the late 1960s onwards before being secured and refurbished from 1996 onwards and has served as an event space since 2001.
