Facts and practical information
The ruins of Polle Castle are the ruins of a hilltop castle on a rocky hilltop about 25 meters high directly on the Weser River above the municipality of Polle in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony.
First mentioned in a document in 1285 as "Eversteiner Burg", it was the seat of the counts of Everstein. It was also referred to as "Eversteiner Burg bei Polle", but should not be confused with Everstein Castle, which is located about 10 kilometers to the south in the Burgberg mountain range.
