EmslandArena, Lingen
Facts and practical information
The Emslandarena is a multi-purpose hall in the town of Lingen in Emsland, Lower Saxony, Germany, which opened in November 2013. In the immediate vicinity of the Emslandarena are the Emslandhallen, which is used as an event and exhibition center, and the Kirmesplatz, which is also used as a parking lot.
In 2015, the Emslandarena was nominated for the Live Entertainment Award in the category Hall/Arena of the Year.
The city of Lingen is planning to convert the arena starting in summer 2018. A new, multifunctional lounge area is to be created opposite the existing expansion of the second floor with the V.I.P. boxes. The measures are intended to maintain the event level, increase comfort and open up new event concepts. The rooms will be glazed down to the floor, which should provide a good view of the interior. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2018 while event operations continue and last through the end of 2019. The cost is expected to be €1.8 million, which will be shared by the city of Lingen and the Emsland district.
