The Sculpture Garden of the Parliament is located in Bremen in the Mitte district on Bremen's Marktplatz to the right of the House of Parliament. It can be visited during the opening hours of the Bremen Parliament.
Although the sculpture garden is located directly on the market square, it is a quiet place to linger and contemplate the expressive figures of Gerhard Marcks. The bronze sculptures were created between 1960 and 1969. Marcks created the five figures Prima Vera, Schreitender Jüngling, Schreitendes Mädchen, Getroffener and Verwundeter Achill in bronze as well as the Dryade in stone. In 2005, the sculptures were opened to the public next to the citizenry.
Prima Vera was a 1917 German silent film melodrama in which a young woman falls in love with a painter named Melchior, whom she sits as a model for an altarpiece. After much turmoil, they both flee to Italy; however, Melchior dumps her one day.

Marcks was one of the most important German sculptors of the 20th century.
