Pforzheim Wildlife Park was founded in 1968. More than 400 mammals, fish and birds of 70 species live in the Pforzheim Game Park on an area of 16.5 hectares. There are numerous offers for children. Exhibitions and workshops are held regularly in the nature education center, the Ewald-Steinle-Haus, which is located on the grounds of the game park. The nature education center was donated in 1997 by the Förderverein Wildpark Pforzheim e. V. respectively by the previous Förderkreis under its then chairman Ewald-Steinle.
Other activities at the Pforzheim Wildlife Park include an educational tree trail, lynx and otter viewing, various quizzes for children, and junior ranger training during the summer vacations. Guided tours are offered for school classes as well as for children's birthday parties. The director of the game park since 2003 is forester Carsten Schwarz. The visit of the park is free of charge, the parking lots are chargeable.
The game park also includes the Büchenbronn game reserve, which was established in 1972. It is located above the Hermannsee lake. Black and fallow deer as well as mouflons live in the enclosures.
In 2015, the online portal TripAdvisor identified the Pforzheim Wildlife Park as the five most popular zoos or zoological institution in Germany and repeatedly ranked first among the attractions in Pforzheim with the so-called Certificate of Excellence.
