Nonnenstromberg, Königswinter
Facts and practical information
The Nonnenstromberg is an elevation in the Siebengebirge mountains near Thomasberg, a district of Königswinter in the Rhine-Sieg district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The Nonnenstromberg is the eastern neighboring mountain of the Petersberg, which is approximately the same height. Thus, the name of the Nonnenstromberg can also be derived: the Petersberg is also known under the name "Stromberg". Various legends tell of nuns and hermits who sought shelter on the mountain during the Crusades.
The elongated summit ridge of the Nonnenstromberg is striking, with a viewpoint at its eastern end that offers a good view of the Great Mount of Olives.
At the foot of the Nonnenstromberg is the restaurant Einkehrhaus Waidmannsruh.
