The Bugenhagen Fountain is a monument created by Ulrich Henn and inaugurated on Whitsunday 1995 on Andreasplatz in Hildesheim. It is dedicated to Johannes Bugenhagen, who preached the first Protestant sermon in St. Andrew's Church on September 1, 1542. It was financed by the Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation in Hildesheim. The fountain is 7.5 meters high and has a diameter of 8 meters. It is cast in bronze. The artist has not so much depicted Bugenhagen's person in the work of art, but his work - "updated", as Johannes Brockhoff writes.
