The Kaiserschleuse lighthouse stands east of the pier leading to the entrance of the Kaiserhafen in Bremerhaven. The Kaiserschleuse Ostfeuer, which is still in operation, was built in 1900 by port director Rudolf Rudloff and is the northernmost lighthouse in the maritime city. The lighthouse has been a listed building since 1984. The height of the structure is 15 m, the height of the beacon is 10 m. In size and appearance it resembles the Moritzburg lighthouse, which is more than 100 years older.
The lighthouse carries a fog bell, which is still in operation today.
