Facts and practical information

The wayside chapel in Hof is one of a total of three wayside chapels in the municipality of Baienfurt in the district of Ravensburg in Upper Swabia. It is a station of the annual Weingartner Blutritt on Bloody Friday, the largest equestrian procession in Europe.

The chapel in the suburb of Hof is located in the Mochenwangerstraße not far from the Wolfegger Ach. The rectangular building has a hipped roof and a central gable rider, in which a bell is located. The exact date of the construction of the chapel can no longer be determined. It was probably built in the 19th century. In 1950 it was extensively renovated and instead of a wooden porch it was given a brick round-arched entrance. On the front side of the entrance there is a plaque with the image of the relic of the Holy Blood from Weingarten. A kneeler and cross are located in the open structure.
