Church of the Holy Cross, Görlitz
Facts and practical information
The Kreuzkirche is a Protestant church building from the beginning of the 20th century on the edge of the southern part of Görlitz between Arndtstrasse and Reuterstrasse. The architect of the modern church building, erected between 1913 and 1919, was Rudolf Bitzan from Dresden. The completion was taken over by the Görlitz architect Gerhard Röhr. He combined stylistic elements from modernism, art nouveau and neoclassicism in the monumental sacral building. The church forms an architectural unit with the adjoining double rectory and parish hall to the southeast.
